INTRODUCING VINTAGE WINTER

Hello Friends,

Today I am sharing a card using the Vintage Winter image from Broken Box Stock.  Besides the beauty of the image, I love that it comes already colored.  I only printed it three times and did some paper piecing.  The sentiment is from a Paper Crafts download.  I added some stickles to the snow to make it shine and use Crystal Lacquer on some spots.  The borders were distress using my distress it all.  I always forget that I have that wonderful tool.  But this card called for some distressing ;)

Here are some pics of the dimension I added by paper piecing some details of the image:

Here is my full card:

I hope you have a wonderful Saturday.  I am heading to my mom's house to sit and chat with her.  After that lunch with my husband to celebrate his birthday and then heading back here to make a few cards I have in mind.  Maybe today but surely tomorrow I will post another creation.

Hugs!!

MAKE IT MONDAY #84

Hi!!

A quick post to share my take on today's Make It Monday at Paper Trey.  Betsy Veldman showed another amazing project using a technique called Reflected Sentiments.  You can watch her video >>here<<  I wish I had the stamps she used for her project... they are on my wish list now ;)  Instead, I created a hybrid card similar to hers.  First because I wanted to try the technique so I just went and cased her entire card.... almost lol!!

Here is my hybrid version of her card:

I created the sentiment using the fonts 2Peas Class Act and Monterey BT  using Photoshop.  Making a hybrid card is great when you don't have much time at hand.... I have to admit I still love to use my stamps and ink pads.... but I am also glad I had this other tool ;)

Hope you have a nice week, I still can't believe how fast the weekend is over.

Hugs!!

HANDMADE MERCI

Hello!!

For today's card I am showing a card made with some handmade inchies made with felt.  I am practicing with my digital cutter and fabric and my latest adventure was to make three inchies with some flowers, hearts and buttons.  They were hand stitched, I tried to make stitches with my sewing machine but they were so small I could only smell tragedy so instead I turned to my needle and floss ;)  I also used a great embossing folder with Chevrons, and stamped chevrons on the panel where the inchies were fixed.

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

Retro Sketches #29
A good sketch is the foundation of a great card!!!

Challenge #37 Chevrons

And again to ....

OK, that kitchen is so adorable!!  Seriously, I could live there ;)

And here is my card:

And some close ups of those cute inchies:

Hope you have a great day and thanks for the visit!!

WOODY BIRD GIFT SET

Hello Everybody!!

Hope you are having a good Sunday.  Mine is going great.  I have been playing with an idea I had in my mind from some time and never had the nerve to take into action.

I have been imagining  from some time a gift bag decorated with fabric appliques and a coordinating card and tag.  The girls at CPT gave me the final push I needed to bring this idea to life.  First of all this is the Inspirational pic at the first ever challenge at CTP - Color My Week #1
I could only feel joy cooking in that kitchen.

Since I am a bright color chic, I picked those bright colors you can see in the image
... look closely, they're there ;)

Here is a look at the full set:

This is the gift bag.  It's made of fuschia and teal burlap and printed cotton fabric.
I cut the cute bird with my digital cutter adding some Heat and Bond Ultrahold backing for stability.
The gift tag is at the back of the bag and the blue panel is a pocket ;)
It has the perfect size to carry some snacks to work.

This is the coordinating card.  It has a fabric flower to coordinate with the bag.  I used the same bird file in a smaller scale to make cuts in paper for the tag and card.  I love the fact that I can make the same cuts in fabric and paper.  Imagine the possibilities!!!

Here are some fun details:

- I made the green button used for the bird in the bag with Polymer Clay.
- I actually had to fix the lower portion of the card.  It was originally stamped
with some brown stitches and the sentiment.  IT WAS HIDEOUS!!!
- This set has 21 french knots
- The eyelet in the tag is the first eyelet I use in more that two years.
- I just realized how easy is to make tags from scraps.  I have to start making a lot!!

Here are more details and close ups:

OK, now I have to get back to reality and keep doing the laundry.
Off to my housewife duties, they are boring but still someone has to do it!!!

Hugs!!

DYSU #89 KRAFT AND TWINE

Hi Everyone!!

Welcome to another round at DYSU.

This week at DYSU we are working with kraft paper and twine.

For me, that's a perfect combination for shabby and vintage cards.

Our great sponsor's for this week are:

* Winner's Choice of 3 Images

* $15 Store Credit

* Winner's Choice of 4 Images

My card this week is showcasing an image from Hope Jacare's

Swirly Street digi stamp.

Swirly street digi stamp by Hope jacare - cardmaking / Scrapbooking

I coloured the image using Photoshop and then printed it on a piece of canvas.  To print the canvas I used Heat and Bond Ultrahold  iron-on adhesive.  The backing was ironed to the fabric and then leaving the backing paper on I ran the fabric through my printer.  I purchased the Heat and Bond on on J&O Fabrics >>here<<.  This is also the same material I use to stabilize and cut fabric with my digital cutter machine.

Here is my card:

And here are some more details:

Hope I have inspired you to go and play with us at DYSU.
 Have a wonderful day!!!
