Reto de Nancy ;) Nancy's Challenge

Hola!!

Hacía varios días no posteaba nada, pero eso no significa que no hubiese trabajado. He estado ocupada con par de cosas que requirieron mucha atención , pero GAD las cosas se están volviendo a normalizar.

Hoy voy a postear varias cositas, pero quiero empezar con una tarjeta que hice para el reto de Nancy. Me encanta el estilo de esta chica!! Es alegre y encuentro fabulosa su manera de utilizar círculos y flores, dos formas que me encantan. Así que cuando vi su tutorial y reto, no resistí y rapidito me puse a hacerlo.


It’s been a few days since my last post. I had a few situations that required my immediate attention. Anyhow, I managed to work on a few things I want to share with you today.

The first one is a card I created for Nancy’s workshop and challenge. I love her style!! The way she uses circles and flowers, two of my favorite shapes is amazing. That’s why when I read her post I couldn’t resist the urge to grab my papers, and complete the workshop.

La segunda tarjeta esta inspiarada tambien en una que posteó Nancy en su blog. Una amiga me pidió un una tarjeta para regalar a una quinceañera. La quería con rosas, verdes y colores brillantes. Como no tenía mucho tiempo para prepararla, me puse a buscar inspiración y encontré ésta tarjeta de Nancy. Decidí hacerla tipo gift card y en verdad que el resultado me encantó.

The second one is also inpired by this post on Nancy's blog. Nancy, can you feel I'm stalking you?? ;) A friend asked me for a gift card holder for a sweet 15 birthday party. Since I didn't have much time, I decided to adapt the card as a holder. I love the results!!

Por último, esta tarjeta la hice con los retazos de la anterior. La dejé en blanco para colocarle el sentimiento en el momento en que la necesite. Me gusta hacer tarjetas genéricas para tenerlas disponibles y poderlas personalizar de acuerdo a la necesidad.

I made this last ones with scraps I had on my table. I didn't put any sentiment so I can personalize it the moment I need to use it. I love making generic cards for my stash, it gives me more flexibility for their use.

Hola Chicas!!

Al fin hoy llegamos a casa!! Estaba loca por pasar un ratito en mi cuarto creando algo para satisfacer estos pasados tres días de dieta paperil (que disparatera jajajaj!!). La cosa es que ojeando que hacer, me gustó el reto de hoy en Splitcoaststampers...que rareza ¿verdad?? El reto consiste de buscar en un site una fuente de inspiración y crear una tarjetita basada en la misma. Bueno, pues ésta fue mi fuente de inspiración para crear una notita de agradecimiento.

Para el texto usé el tutorial que mi amiguita Daly colocó en su blog, Gracias amiguita!!. Como lo quería poner en práctica rápido, decidí usarlo para la tarjetita, tambien usé una lentejuela en forma de flor que había comprado desde hace tiempito y nunca las uso. En estos días han estado hablando en un grupo al que pertenezco de las lentejuelas y decidí usar aunque fuera una por aquello de no quedarme atrás.

El borde en damasko lo hice utilizando la Cricut y el programa Scal...Que raro ¿verdad?? Hice el file un momentito porque había visto este borde y me gustó la imagen. Creo que se hubiera visto mejor si le hubiese puesto el fondo blanco pero ni modo...a lo hecho pecho ;)

Tengo velaito otro challenge así que pendientes...

Here is my submission for today's inspirational challenge at Splitcoastampers. This was my source of inspiration. I created the circular text using Daly's tutorial on how to make a circular text in word.

For this card I used a sequin and a brad. I cut the damask border using my Cricut and Scal, How strange is that? LOL ;)

I saw another challenge so soon I will post it in here.

Hice esta tarjetita para el challenge de hoy en Splitcoaststampers. El reto de hoy consiste en una combinación específica de colores. Por lo general el reto de colores siempre me da trabajo y no fue la excepción... me tomó bastante tiempo completarla pero al final me agradó el resultado.

This is the card I made for today's challenge at Splitcoaststampers. The challenge consists of creating a card with a given color combination. The color challenge usually gives me a hard time and today was not an exception. I guess I'm satisfied with the results.

Yo aquí de nuevo cerrando un fin de semana largo dedicado a crear en mi cuarto de SB. Hacían meses no me dedicaba a crear por la mera diversión de hacerlo. El challenge de hoy en Splitcoaststamper es crear una cajita utilizando un template que ellos te proveen. Como todas saben, yo no se hacer nada si no lo hago con mi maravillosa Cricut...digo, ¿para qué la compré si no?? Así que me dediqué primero a adaptar el template que nos proveyeron para cortarlo usando el programa SCAL. Aquí están las dos cajitas que hice.

Here I am again this time closing what in my opinion was a perfect weekend. Here in my home creating a lot of cards and projects. Today's challenge at Splitcoaststampers was to create a card using a template they provided. Since I cannot do anything without my Cricut, I created a file in SCAL to cut it and adapt the size of the box more easily. Here are the two boxes I made.

Esta es la primera. Para ella usé el stamp Flower Fluffles de Strampendous. Me encanta el contrallao gato ese!!

For this one I used the stamp Flower Fluffles from Strampendous. I love that cat!!



Para esta segunda usé un file que hice tambien con SCAL para el pajarito, la rama y la casita del pájaro.

For this one, I also used a file I created with SCAL for the bird, leaves and the birdhouse.

Un Bizcochito y Mi Primer Tutorial ;) A Cupcake and My First Tutorial

Eso es lo que yo me comería ahora. Pero como no puedo, pues me dediqué a hacer uno. Aquí está una tarjetita que hice inspirada por ésta que Beatriz Jennings publicó en su blog. En verdad que cuando la vi me enamoré de ella y aunque las cositas que Beatriz hace las encuentro difíciles con mucha paciencia logré hacerla, y en verdad he quedado super complacida con el resultado.

Para lograr la base del cupcake, ya que no tengo el ponchador de Martha Stewart, me las ingenié usando mi Cricut (por supuesto) y dos ponchadores de circulos bien pequeños. Creo que después de hoy, ya no quiero el ponchador.... ;)

That's what I want to eat right now, since I can't I invested some time in creating this card which I cased from this post of Beatriz Jennings. I love her blog, but usually find her cards very difficult to case. Since I loved this one so much I invested some time and was quite pleased with the results.

To make the border of the cupcake base, I used my Cricut (of course) and two small circle punches. Since I don't have the Martha Steart's border punch that was used in the original card, I improvised with what I had. After today, I don't think I want to buy that punch anymore LOL!!

OK, ésta vez voy a incluir un pequeño tutorial de como logré hacer la base del cupcake. Primero corté la misma con un file que hice en CDS utilizando el cart de George. Yo no se como alguien podría vivir sn este cart, les aseguro que yo no puedo jajaja!!! Bueno, una vez cortes la tasita debe lucir así.

OK, this time I'm including a little tutorial on how I make the cupcake cup. I cut the cup with a file I created in CDS using George Cart. I can't live without this cart!! Once you cut the cup it should look like this.



Luego recorta los bordes de la tasita.
Trim the borders of the cup.




Ahora vas a trazar dos líneas paralelas que te sirvan de guia para que los huecos te queden derechos.
Now you are going to trace two parallels lines which are going to serve as your guide to make the holes straight.



Ahora les haces primero los huequitos más pequeños y debajo los mas grandes.
First you are going to punch the smaller circles and then the bigger ones.




Y tan tán...tienes tu tasita para el cupcake!
And your cup is done!!

Otra Invitación de Bodas ;) Another Wedding Invite

Hola!!

En las pasadas semanas estuve trabajando con las invitaciones de boda para mi hermana. La boda va a ser bien sencilla por lo que quería que las invitaciones no lucieran tan formales. Recordé que en entre los sets que vendieron en Costco que Miguel (mi esposo) me regaló, hay un damasco que serviría perfectamente con la idea que tenía en mente. Así fue, me salió de la primera...claro, llevaba días pensando en lo que quería hacer. Me encantó el resultado el cual espero que también sea del agrado de ustedes. Últimamente estoy diciendo eso mucho pero es que solo posteo lo que realmente me gusta. Tienen que ver las cosas que hago a veces…¡wakala!!!

I have been busy creating the invitations for my sister's wedding. It’s going to be a very simple gathering so I wanted the invites to be some kind of informal. I remembered that the sets that my hubby bought me at Costco have a damask which in my opinion where perfect for what I had in mind. I was absolutely right; it was love at first sight ;) I love how they turned out ... I have been saying that a lot, but then I only post what I love, you should see the cards and stuff I don’t post … Yikes!!!

EXITO EN TU NUEVA AVENTURA

Terminé esta tarjeta que me pidieron para un compañero de trabajo que se va para comenzar otra etapa en su carerra profesional. Poco a poco le he ido cojiendo el piso a usar Photoshop para acomodar el texto en mis tarjetas y definitivamente es una herramienta que cada día me gusta más.

Traté de usar el estilo de Nancy en el uso del círculo y las franjas de papel. Me encanta el estilo de esta chica, y aunque esta es una tarjeta bien varonil creo que logré adaptar el uso del círculo de una manera exitosa...... o por lo menos a mi me gustó ;)

I made this card for a co-worker who is leaving us to start a new phase in his professional career. I used Photoshop to create the text in the card. I AM developing a certain passion for this tool ;)

Al fin ya estoy regresando a la faena luego de la refriega navideña. Para ir calentando motores, aqui les comparto un lay out que hice en estos días. Como de costumbre, me tomó tres días hacerlo, en verdad que soy bien lenta trabajando el scrapbook. Pero lo importnte es que el resultado me gustó.

Estoy preparando mi primer tutorial así que pendientes porque próximamente viene algo por ahi.

At last I am returning to my "paper duties" after the Christmas season. To start, I made this lay out which took me three days to complete :() I am a very...extremely slow scrapbooker. Anyway, the important thing is that I love the results.

As part of my new year's resolutions, I am in the process of making my first tutorial. Soon I will be posting it.

DOS MESES! ;) TWO MONTHS!

A la verdad es que el tiempo no perdona. Ya van casi dos meses desde mi última entrada. Y eso no significa que no haya estado haciendo nada...por el contrario he estado super ajorada entre mi familia, trabajo y los embelecos en los que me meto. Les cuento que de la boda luego hice 150 menus de los cuales les debo la foto porque tengo que hacer el mio, pero eso viene porque quiero retratar el set completo de lo que hice. Sin embargo, si les comparto las cajitas y menus que hice para los niños que participaron de la boda. Están bien sencillos pero en verdad me gustó mucho el resultado, espero que ustedes tambien les guste.

Its incredible how time flies, it's been almost two months since my last post, but that didn't mean I have not been busy with my creations. After the wedding invites I made 150 menus for the same wedding. Unfortunately I had no time to take a picture, but I am going to make one and photograph it so soon I am going to post it. Nevertheless, I am including a picture of the boxes and menus I made for the kids that attended the wedding. They are very simple but I really loved the results. Hope you like them.

Tambien he hecho par de cositas relacionadas a la navidad, aunque no han sido tantas como quisiera. Aquí les comparto dos cajitas y dos tarjetitas 3X3 que hice la semana pasada tomándome un descanso de otro trabajo que estoy completando.

I also made a few things for Christmas, I wish I have more time to make a few more holiday projects. I love this time of the year and all the decorations. That reminds me I have to finish decorating my Christmas tree :( Here I share two boxes and two 3X3 cards I made last week while taking a break from another big project in which I have been working.

Bueno, por hoy esto es todo. Para la semana estaré posteando los calendarios en los que he estado trabajando. Tuve que hacer 150 de esos calendarios y en verdad que eso me tiene bastante ocupada. Pero, Dios mediante esta semana los termino y tendré tiempo de jugar con mis papeles y mis cositas de navidad para las fiestas con la familia. Hasta la proxima!!

FALL THANKS

Cuando vi esta tarjetita de mi amiguita Jay me gustó tanto que le pedí permiso para copiarme la idea. Para ella utilizé de el set Holiday Seasons que estan vendiendo en Costco las omágenes de otoño. Estos sets a la verdad es que están brutales. El papel son los scraps de las invitaciones que los he ido cortando para bases de tarjetas. De esta manera puedo aprovechar los pedazos que me sobraron y usarlos en mis tarjetas.

When I saw this post in Jay's blog I knew I had to case the card. I asked her permission and with the use of the fall stamps in the Holiday Seasons set that Costco is selling this is the result. I love those sets, and the price is unbeatable!! For the card base I used the scraps of the wedding invitations I made. I cut all the scraps into card bases to use them in my card making projects.

MIS PRIMERAS INVITACIONES

Al fin terminé las invitaciones para la boda de una compañera de trabajo. Para ser mis primeras invitaciones me siento super contenta con el resultado.

Aunque no lo parece tienen mucha labor envuelta. El sobre y la invitación los corté con la Cricut gracias a la ayuda de CDS. Para la invitación usé el cart George and basic shapes y para el sobre usé Mini Monograms. La franja de papel la repujé con el folder de la Cuttlebug. La impresión de las invitaciones y los monogramas se enviaron a una imprenta para que la letra quedara repujada. Los cuadritos de las invitaciones son a 1 1/8", 1 1/4" y 1 3/8" y las iniciales estan impresas en un cuadrito de 1". Para que el sobre se pueda cerrar, le apliqué la pega Lick & Stick la cual es una pega para sobres. Esta pega rinde muchísimo, al ser 70 invitaciones de exagerada compré dos potes y no se fue ni una cuarta parte de uno.

Bueno, ahora me voy a poner a hacer par de challenges que estoy velando desde hacen par de días. Lo malo es que hoy es mi último día de vacaciones...así que el lunes regreso a mi vida rutinaria. Pero en verdad, esta semana creativa me vino super. Le doy gracias a Dios por haberme permitido disfrutarla.

I just finished the wedding invitations for a coworker. Being my first invites I am quite pleased with the results.

I cut the invites and envelopes with my Cricut and CDS. For the invite I used George and for the envelope Mini Monograms. The paper strip on the inside was embossed using a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The text was printed at a local printing shop. The monograms on the envelope and card front were cut at 1” and the mats are 1 1/8”, 1 1/4:” and 1 3/8”. To seal the envelope I used Lick & Stick glue.

Well, now I’m going to play with some challenges. Today is my last day on vacation L but this week was great because I was able to play a lot here and for that I am grateful.

A WEDDING CARD

Hola!! Hace par de semanas no escribo. Les cuento que estuve terminando las tarjetas para mi amiga y despues he comenzado unas invitaciones para la boda de otra amiga. WOW!! Eso si que me está dando trabajo. Esta semana me la tomé por vacaciones para poder dedicarme a ese proyecto y terminarlo antes del viernes. Una vez ya estén listas...por supuesto que les voy a tomar fotos para que las vean.

Hi!! It's been a while since my last post. During that time have been working on my friend's cards and the wedding invitations of another friend. I took this week off so I can work on the invites and finish them before Friday. Of course I am going to photograph them once they are ready!!!

Mientras, aquí comparto una tarjeta de boda que hice. Me inspiré en una tarjeta de Beatriz Jennings. Desde que vi esa tarjeta me encantó y cuando me pidieron una tarjeta para boda inmediatamente pensé en esta. La corté usando mi Cricut y el CDS con el cartridge George. Cada vez ese cartridge me gusta más. Casi no uso las letras, aunque son muy lindas. Pero definitivamente que las figuras básicas son esenciales para mi.

Bueno, no les tomo más tiempo. Cuídense y que tengan una bonita semana.

In the mean time, I want to share with you a wedding card I made on Saturday. I was inspired by this post of Beatriz Jennings. When I saw her card I fell in love with it. So, I had to use her idea for my wedding card. I used my Cricut and CDS to cut the shape of the card with George cart. I love that cart, I find it extremely useful because of all the basic shapes it has.

Ya hace más de un mes desde mi última entrada. El tiempo se va volando y uno ni cuenta se da. Las últimas semanas he estado compartiendo los sábados con una amiga que acaba de atravesar por una prueba bien grande. Aquí comparto con ustedes unas notitas de agradecimiento que le hice para que se la envíe a las amistades que estuvieron con ella en ese proceso.

Me parece increíble que lo que para mi comenzó como un pasatiempo para matar el tiempo libre hoy me sirve para ayudar a los demás. Ya la gente me pregunta como voy con mis papelitos y adornos jajaja!! Espero que les guste la tarjetita.

Para la imagen primero mojé el stamp con la tinta Pink Pirouette y después usando los daubbers apliqué el Rining Hood Red y el Kiwi Kiss en el stamp para lograr el efecto de los tres colores. La mariposa la corté con la Cricut y SCAL y luego el hice el repujado con uno de los folders de la Cuttlebug.

WOW!! It's been a month since my last post. For the past Saturday’s I have been spending some time with a dear friend who is having a very difficult time. I share with you the card I made her to send to the friends in appreciation for all the support and love they gave her.

I'm amazed that what started as a hobby to kill my free time has evolved into a wonderful part of my live that gives me the opportunity to help others. I hope you like my card!!

For the image I first inked the stamp with pink pirouette and the with the use of sponge daubbers I applied Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red. The butterfly was made with the Cricut and SCAL and then embossed wit a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
