JUST A NOTE

Hola,

Hoy les presento esta tarjetita que hice utilizando el stamp digital DaisyHead de Melonheadz. La misma la hice bien sencilla pues quería que se destacara la flor que de por si es tan linda que no necesita mucho para sobresalir.

Para darle la dimensión , imprimí la flor completa una vez y "cropie" la flor y hojas las cuales imprimí dos veces adicionales. Las pinté con los Copics y fui cortando las diferentes áreas de la flor y hoja para montarla usando tape dimensional.

El sketch que usé es de Lilly Pad Cards y el reto de Lucy’s Lovely Lines.

Today I present a card making use of one of Melonheadz digital stamps - Daisyhead. I made it very simple since I wanted the stamp to be the main focus of the card.

To add dimension, I printed the whole stamp, cropped the flower and leave and printed them two times. I colored the flower with my Copics , paper pieced the flower and leaves and mounted them using dimensional tape.

I used the sketch at Lilly Pad Cards in the Lucy’s Lovely Lines challenge.

A DISTRESS TRIO

Hoy les presento este trío de tarjetitas que hice practicando la tecnica de “Emboss Resist” utilizando los Distress Inks en Broken China, Spiced Marmalade y Barn door. El sello es Doilies Stamp Set de Maya Road. Estas tarjetitas son bien fáciles de hacer y me encanta tener siempre sets preparados para cualquier regalito de última hora.

Espero que tengan un feliz viernes, yo estoy súper contenta pues en los fines de semana es que en verdad me dedico a preparar mis proyectos. A parte de eso, el domingo es el día de los padres y tenemos celebración con mi viejito.

Today I show you a set I made using the Emboss Resist technique with the Distress Inks in Broken China, Spiced Marmalade and Barn door. The stamp is from the Doilies Stamp Set by Maya Road. They were very easy to make. I love to have sets like this prepared for those cases when I need a little gift at the last minute.

I hope you have a great day, I will for sure because is Friday and this marks the beginning of the weekend when I have the time to really play and do the things I love. Also this Sunday is Father’s day and we have a great celebration with my “viejito”.

Hoy les presento ésta tarjetita que hice con un stamp digital de Pollycraft. Lo puedes conseguir gratuitamente hasta el 27 de junio >>aquí<< . Me encantó la imagen del pajarito pues la encontré súper alegre y rápido pensé en los tonos tan brillantes que siempre me gusta usar.

El sketch que usé fue el del reto de ésta semana en Mojo Monday 195. Me encantan los sketches de ese blog!

Corté el circulo con un Nestability y le hice “sponging” usando el Distress Ink en Broken China. Para pintar al pajarito usé los Copics y para la flor la corté en papel de diseño y luego le hice las sombras con mis Copics.

Today I am presenting a card made with a digital stamp from Pollycraft. You can download it for free until June 27 >>here<<. I love this bird image since it looks so happy and immediately made me think of all the bright colors I love to use.

I used the sketch 195 of this week Mojo Monday challenge blog. I love their sketches.

I cut the circle with a Nestability and sponged the background with the Distress Inks in Broken China using the Nestie as a mask to keep the white border. Then colored the bird with my Copics and paper pieced the flower with DP paper and shaded it with Copics.

Buen día!!

Espero que hayan pasado un buen fin de semana. Yo estuve descansando mucho y practicando una técnica que hace tiempo estaba loca por hacer. Les presento esta tarjetita que pinté usando los “Distress Inks”. Hacen varios días estuve viendo los videos de Lily Pad Cards y a la verdad es que me encantó la forma en que ella utiliza estas tintas para darle color a sus tarjetas. Ayer en la tarde me dediqué a practicar y aquí les presento el resultado.

Aprovecho la oportunidad para presentar la tarjeta en el reto de Magical Monday – Pick Two. Los dos ingredientes que usé son flores y cinta.

Hope you had a great weekend. I rested a lot and practiced a technique I have been wanting to try for a while. I colored this card using my Distress Inks. I love the technique videos from Lily Pad Cards and always enjoy the bright colors and the results of her cards.

I present this card on today’s Magical Monday – Pick Two challenge. I used flowers and ribbon.

Today I have great news. I was invited to be part of the DT of DYSU Challenge Blog. I am so happy!! And to celebrate, here I present my card for this week challenge DSYU #23 Birthdays . For the card I used the CPS 221 sketch. I made a little modification to the sketch in order to use the sentiment I wanted for the card.

Los paneles en polka dots son del background set de PT Polka Dots Basics II, no me canso de usar ese set!! Es de esas imágenes de las cuales nunca te cansas.

The polka dots layers are from the PT background set Polka Dots Basics II. I can’t seem to stop using that set! It has been one of those sets that you simply cannot put aside.

Los colores de distress inks que usé son Worn Lipstick, Tumbled Glass y Peeled paint y la sombra en la imagen fue con Mustard Seed. La tinta negra es la de Mementos. Para pintar a Blobby use mis Copics.

I used the Distress inks for the Polka dots in Worn Lipstick, Tumbled Glass y Peeled paint and the shadow in the images was made with Mustard Seed. The black ink is from Mementos. To color Bobbly i used my Copics.

Les presento esta tarjetita que hice en esta semana. Me encanta el mensaje pues en una forma jocosa lo que quiere decir es que hay que mantenerse firme en la vida porque a la largar las cosas van a mejorar.

Aprovecho para presentarla en el reto de Catered Crop. Los ingredientes que usé son los colores (rojo, blanco, azul y amarillo) digo, aunque se me fueron dos o tres mas por ahí. También tiene die cuts, paper piecing, es bastante veraniega y tiene costuras aunque sean de mentiras. Hablando de costuras estoy triste pues mi maquina de coser se me dañó así que tengo que llevarla a reparar pues me está haciendo mucha falta.

I am showing today a card finished this week. I love the quote because in a funny way it tell us to keep doing whatever we need to do no matter the circumstances because in the end things will get better.

I want to present it in this week Catered Crop Challenge. The ingredients I used were the colors red, white, blue and yellow (maybe one or two additional colors ;) , I also used die cuts, stamping, paper piecing, and faux stitching, hope that one counts LOL! I am a little sad since my sewing machine is not working, I need to get it to the hospital because I am missing her so much :(

Espero que hayan disfrutado del fin de semana. Yo descansé mucho y aunque no hice la cantidad de tarjetas que me había propuesto, si comencé el curso de los Copics con Suzanne Dean y a la verdad es que me está encantando.

Hoy comparto una tarjeta hecha con un stamp digital de Nikki el cual puedes conseguir en su blog Melonheadz >>aquí<<. Nikki es una chica bien talentosa que crea sus dibujos y los postea en su blog para repartir alegrías y compartir con otros el talento que Dios le dio. Yo soy fanática de sus stamps y he decidido hacer regularmente mis tarjetas utilizando los mismos. Espero que les guste mi tarjeta y que la visiten en su blog.

I hope you enjoyed your weekend. I certainly enjoyed mine resting and making some cards. I didn’t make as much as hoped, but started Suzanne Dean’s Copics course which I am enjoying a lot.

Today I want to share a card making use of one of Nikki’s digital stamps which you can find >>in here<<. She has a great blog named Melonheadz in which she shares her scribbles and almost daily she gives some happiness to many of us. If you has not visit her blog, I recommend you do it and soon ;) I am a fanatic of her work and have decided to make more cards with her stamps. I hope you like today’s card!!

Para hacer la capa de chocolate pinté la imagen con un Copic marrón y luego le apliqué tres capas de "embossing powder" transparente para lograr el efecto brilloso. En la capa de helado le apliqué "flock" blanco para darle una textura diferente.

To make the fudge I colored the image with a brown Copic and then embossed with clear powder three times to achieve the glossy effect. I applied white flock to the ice cream to add additional textures.

DAUBERS CASEROS

Hola chicas!

Hoy les quiero mostrar una herramienta que pueden hacer en sus hogares y economizarse unos cuantos dólares. Se trata de hacer tus propios “daubers” para cuando vayas a trabajar con la técnica de sponging.

La misma no es de mi propia inventiva, me la enseñó Kim cuando tome el curso de sponging con ella. Para hacer tus daubers necesitas comprar de las puntas plásticas que venden en las ferreterías para las sillas y mesas. Vienen de muchos tamaños diferentes lo que resulta bien conveniente.

Aquí una foto de un paquete que tengo sin abrir del tamaño más pequeño que utilizo.

Lo otro que vas a necesitar son esponjas de foam de las más baratas que puedas conseguir. En serio! A más baratita mejor.



Una vez tienes estos dos ingredientes, armar tu dauber es súper sencillo. Vas a cortar la esponja de un tamaño apropiado que puedas insertar dentro del “copito” de manera tal que quede apretadito y sobresalga una barriguita.



Mira como queda el mío.

La ventaja es que esta esponja te va a durar mucho, la puedes lavar y cambiar el lado. Esto hace que cada esponja te rinda mucho. Para la técnica de sponging es lo que me gusta utilizar pues aparte de que salen más económicas, puedo tener varios tamaños por color para poder trabajar las diferentes áreas de la imagen que esté coloreando. En adición son bien duraderas y resistentes.

MY NEW SB ROOM

Hola!

Luego de dos semanas de mucho trabajo al fin este fin de semana terminamos la primera fase de mi Nuevo cuarto de SB. Digo primera fase pues esas dos semanas fueron solamente para poder mudar los cuartos y acomodar todas las cosas en sus nuevos lugares. Aun me falta decorarlo y terminar de acomodar las cosas de una manera más funcional. Estoy bien agradecida a Dios y a mi esposo por haberme regalado este rincón el cual toda mi vida soñé con tener.

Está regado pues tomé las fotos luego de terminar de hacer las tarjetas de madres. Lo que significa que ya empezó la diversión wohooo!!!

After two weeks cleaning, painting, and organizing I can finally show you how my new room is looking. I still have a lot of work pending decorating it but I’m happy because now it’s functional. I thank God and my DH for this gift which has been my dream room since I was a little girl. As you can see, it has a mess because I took the photos after finishing some Mother's day cards. That only means that the fun has started yeahhh!!!

Aquí les muestro un “Tent Card” que hice para cumplir con varios retos. Entre ellos estaba el escojer entre unos tutoriales y decidí hacer esta porque desde que lo subieron a SCS me encantó y nunca lo había hecho. Utilicé el sello digital que te regalan en el mismo ya que el reto te anima a utilizar un cupcake en la tarjeta.

Here is the card I made for this week Multi Fold Card Challenge at Magical Monday. I decided to make a tent card because I loved this tutorial since they uploaded at SCS but never made it. So I decided this was the perfect moment to give it a try.

En lugar de colorear el cupcake, lo hice en paper piece… me encanta ir recortando el papel y creando dimensión para la imagen.

Instead of coloring, I paper pieced the image, I love this technique since it adds a lot of dimension to the image.

El fondo de la tarjeta lo hice con sponging y las tintas distress de Tim Holtz. Y el centro brown de la flor lo pinte con marcadores.

I sponged the card background to simulate a sky.

Me encantó el resultado de la tarjeta y creo que vendrán más de estas por ahí.

I loved the results! I think there will be a lot of tents cards around here for a while LOL!

Hola!

Hoy les quiero mostrar una tarjetita que hice ya hace un tiempito y no había compartido aquí. Sus colores como de costumbre son brillantes y llamativos… ya saben que conmigo nada es sutil y apaciguado. La tarjeta es bien sencilla, no tiene mucha técnica, pero la combinación de colores hace todo el trabajo. Obtuve esta combinación de colores de la edición de Color Combination de Paper Crafts. Me gusta mucho esa edición porque obtengo combinaciones inusuales a mi estilo y me motiva a tratar cosas fuera de mi área de comodidad.

I want to show you a card I made a few weeks ago. I love the bright and bold colors it has, Not a lot of technique in this card but the colors make it look so busy that they do all the work for me. You know me, I love bold colors. I found this color combo in the Paper Crafts issue of Color Combinations. I love that issue because I can look for unexpected color combos and challenge myself to get out of my comfort zone and try different things.
