A COLORFUL TRIO

Hola!

Aquí les muestro un set de Topiaris que había hecho desde hace ya par de meses. Solo me faltaba conseguir el tiestito donde ponerlos y finalmente lo conseguí hace par de semanas. Lo voy a colocar en la sala de mi casa también cerca del cuadrito que les mostré hace unos días. Las florecitas son hechas a mano (si, una a una). Las hice utilizando los stamps de Bloomers-Coronado Island. Aunque estas flores se pueden hacer sin los stamps, me gusta usarlos porque dejan una impresión sobre la flor lo que te permite que quede en dos tonos. De ahí que las florecitas blancas tienen un todo de rosa, azul o anaranjado. Y también todas quedan del mismo tamaño lo que hace que el trabajo se vea mas uniforme.

Por el momento no tengo más piezas de Home Decor para mostrarles. Las otras cosas que estoy haciendo están aun en proceso, pero en la medida en que las vaya terminando se las iré mostrando. Como verán mi casa esta decorada con muchos colores. Como diría mi amiga Tere…. Pa’ circo no tiene precio…. Pues entonces…. QUE SIGA LA FUNCION!!!

This is a set of trees I made a few months ago and finally I purchased the little tins to finish them. I used the Bloomers Stamps from Coronado Island to make the flowers. Although you can make these flowers without the stamps, I like to use them because not only I can make my flowers in two tones (like the white ones) but also because they have the same size making it easier to finish the Topiary.

I will be showing you more pieces of Home Décor as I finished them. As you can see I love colors and those extents to my decoration. Life is so grey sometimes that I need to have a cheerful place to come every day.

HOME SWEET HOME

¿Que mejor cosa que uno llegar a su casita todos los días a disfrutar del amor y del ambiente que nos hace sentir felices? Con eso en mente es que durante mis vacaciones me dediqué a preparar este cuadrito que hice para adornar mi casa y darme a mi misma la bienvenida todos los días. Hace tiempo estaba por hacerlo y resulto ser de las pocas veces que algo me queda tal y como lo visualicé.

Para hacer el cuadrito use un canvas 5 X 7 el cual pinte con pintura acrílica de Memory Makers en Sky y Celery y la calle la hice pintando una línea con tinta Craft negra de SU! Todas las demás imágenes fueron estampadas y recortadas en dos tonos para darle las tonalidades a las puertas y ventanas y recortadas para darles dimensión. El marco es uno de fotos que compre en Costco al cual le di una primera capa de Gesso y luego pinte de manera tal que le diera continuidad al canvas. Le añadí toques con pintura de color “Expresso” en los bordes y el interior del marco para que tuviera más profundidad. La cinta y el lazo se los pegue con mi pistola de calor. Las letras las corté con la Cricut y un font que ahora no recuerdo, pero cualquier letra ancha haría el mismo efecto. Luego de cortadas las decoré con lentejuelas, yute y rhinestones.

Is there a better feeling than arriving each evening at your home to be with your family and enjoy the things that really makes you happy? With that in mind is that I created this home decor during my vacations last month. I am very pleased with the results since this is one of those times where the final results are just as I imagined them.

For this project I used a 5 X 7 canvas and a picture frame I bought at Costco a while ago. I painted them with Memory Makers acrylic paint in sky, celery and espresso. I loved playing with gesso and acrylics paints and see a lot of projects using these materials in the near future. I stamped each house in two tones (brown for the windows and doors) and then paper pieced them and mounted in the canvas with mounting tape to give them more dimension. The letters where cut with my Cricut and SCAL and decorated with sequins, rhinestones and hemp.

JOY MINI CARDS SET

Espero que se encuentren bien. Yo estoy enferma así que no he podido tener la diversión que esperaba en el día de hoy. Quiero compartir con ustedes este set de mini tarjetas que hice hace par de semanas pero que aun no había fotografiado. Este es un trabajo Hibrido. Utilicé un font llamado LD Nativity que compre en Scrap and Fonts. Cada letra mayúscula del set tiene un pesebre. Lo que hice fue segregar el pesebre y usarlo como mi imagen central. Con las letras minúsculas del set escribí la palabra JOY. Luego lo imprimí dos veces, una en la base de la tarjeta y en un pedazo de papel. Las pinte usando mis Copics. Aunque no tengo mucha técnica pintando con ellos, el resultado final me parece bastante razonable.

Hope you all doing fine. Today I have been sick so there was not as much fun here as I expected. Still, I want to share a 3X3 set I made a few weeks ago. I used a font name LD Nativity which I purchased at Scrap and Fonts. I love the results. This is a hybrid card; basically I segregated the manger from one of the letters and used it for the main image. In this set all capitals have a manger in it. I used the lower case for the JOY word. I printed the image twice in the card base and on a scrap of white paper, and then colored it with my Copics. I still need a lot of practice coloring with those markers, but still the results are kind of cute.

HELLO CHRISTMAS!!!

it’s been a long time since my last post. I have been working a lot, but most of all spending time with my DH. That doesn't mean I have not been working a few things I will be sharing with you over the next days. Anyway, as you know Christmas is my favorite time of the year, so for me that's enough motivation to start blogging again.

Today I want to post a wall hanging I made yesterday. This year I decided that the new Christmas decorations will be handmade by me. After all we all have endless supply of materials to decorate a shopping mall hehehe!! Anyway, the nativity is mounted on a 4X6 canvas which I painted and decorated to simulate a night scene. It's my first attempt at making a night scene so please, be kind LOL! I used the Nativity 1 digital cut set from My Scrapchick. I thought it was going to be difficult to mount all the little pieces but it was quite easy. I plan to make a few more to give to family and friends. It will make a great Christmas card...don't you think?

See you tomorrow when I will post a 3x3 card set I made last week.

Another Birthday

One of my "Shabright" creations. I used BG paper Nook and Pantru collection, the stamps are from Stampinup. The ribbon is white seam binding tape dyed in red. The flower is handmade also dyed to match the ribbon.

Classy and Elegant

This is my version of a classy and elegant card. Again, it's hybrid. I used BG digital paper from Scarlet Letter collection. I resized the papers and monograms to fit a 3X3 card and printed the different layers. Then I paper pieced the monograms and added diamond glaze to give then dimension and shine. The little flowers are hand made using Prima petals, they where yellow so I dye them in red.

Hi There... Graphic Style

Here is my version of a graphic style card. I think it has something of shabby because of the distress and glitter, but in all I find it goes more with the graphic group.


To make the card I used a Basic Grey digital paper and resized it to have all the gorgeous details in the borders. Then I added the digital stamps and printed on my cardstock. I painted the flowers using my Copics and then added son dimension with pabbles and glitter glue.

It's very simple, not my usual style but I guess I achieved the clean & graphic look with my usual distressed style.

Finished size is 3X3 .... hmm, I guess I love this card size LOL!

FUN & CUTE WANNA BE...

I will have multiple posts today since I am submitting a few cards for the different card style challenges at the Moxie Fab Blog. I love this special issue because it has helped me to identified my card style. I have been making cards for a few years now and still have not defined my style. Well, I think that this process has help me determine that my dominant style is shabby with a twist of fun & cute. I may be wrong, or my style may develop a little more, but for now I have named my style the "Shabright Style".

Having said that, in the process of naming my own very special style, I made my version of each of the styles shown in the magazine. Here is my version of the fun & cute cards.

The first one is a hybrid one. I design it in Photoshop, resized the paper and the tag and printed it. I made the flower with felt and the base is a Prima flower.

For this one I used an acetate piece to make a window in the card front. This way I was able to decorate both the outside and inside of the card.

MOJO MOJO... WHERE YOU'VE BEEN?

Hace tiempo no actualizaba mi blog. He estado bien ocupada entre el trabajo y la familia y la verdad es que no había sacado el tiempo para trabajar cositas para subir al blog. Si he trabajado varios proyectos que me han pedido, pero por la prisa no los retrate..... muy malllll. Este fin de semana decidí que ya estaba bueno de tanta pereza y decidí sentarme a trabajar.

Este mes en Splitcoastampers se esta celebrando una serie especial de challenges llamado el "Dare To Get Dirty 2010" diseñados por el "Dirty Dozen" para aquellas personas que somos miembros del Fan Club. Para sacarle un poco el polvo a mi creatividad, decidí jugar con ellas la mayor cantidad de retos que el tiempo me permita.

Aquí les muestro la primera tarjetita. No es mi estilo habitual, pero me gusto el resultado.

La segunda tarjeta la hice inspirada en la serie Full House, sobre todo porque me encanta el comenzar cuando presentan ese parquecito en San Francisco.... Y es que me encantan las famosas casas "Paited Ladies".

Para esta tarjeta utilicé papeles digitales de la colección Phoebe de Basic Grey. SIIII, BG esta trabajando algunas de sus colecciones en files digitales. Esta colección siempre me ha gustado por sus colores alegres. Lo que hice fue crear en Photoshop las diferentes capas de la tarjeta las cuales imprimí y corte. Lo que me gusta de trabajar hibrido es que si un papel me encanta (como en este caso), nunca se me acaba. Espero que BG siga tirando sus colecciones en digital. El stamp es de uno de los kits de Unity, las casitas... me encantan!!

A Wedding Chapel

Esta es mi última tarjeta para el reto de Caardvarks. Para la misma utilicé una imagen digital. Para los colores me inspire en el reto de Embelish Magazine. Me encanta como luce la tarjeta pues se ve bien colorida y alegre, perfecta para unos novios jóvenes. En realidad a esta tarjeta no le hice ninguna técnica especial. Solo pinte la imagen con mis Copics y le añadí rhinestones para que tuviera mas vida.

This is my last card for the Caardvarks Challenge. I used a digital image for this one. I use no particular technique, just painted the image with my Copics and added rhinestones. Still I love how it looks. The colors are very bright and fun, perfect for a young happy couple.

The sketch is from I {Heart} to stamp challenge. Love the sketch and the challenges for this month are juste great!

A Beautiful Bride

Aquí les muestro otra tarjeta que hice para el reto de Caardvarks. Corte la muñequita utilizando un file de Myscrapchick.com. Repuje el traje utilizando dos folders diferentes para darle más dimensión y textura. Luego, le rocíe Glimmer Mist en perla para que tuviera brillo. No le puse sentimiento afuera pues quería que resaltara la novia y no quería que la tarjeta se fuera a sobrecargar demasiado.

Here I show another card made for the Caardvarks Challenge. I cut the bride using a file from Myscrapchick.com. I used two different embossing folders for the dress in order to give it more texture and dimension. Then, I sprayed some Glimmer Mist in Pearl color to give shine to the dress. I didn’t add a quote to the front of the card since I wanted the bride to be the focal point and to avoid distraction from it.

Buenos días - Hi

Hoy estoy en mi casita y mientras lavo la ropa estoy terminando unos cuantos retos que tenía empezados. Así que hoy van a ver dos o tres entradas diferentes ya que cada reto lo voy a estar mostrando en su propia entrada. Dicho esto ahora pasamos a la parte que nos gusta.

La combinación de colores del reto de esta semana me pareció perfecta para una tarjeta de bodas. Dado que también estoy participando en el reto de Caardvarks pues que mejor cosa que usar esta fuente de inspiración para seguir creando tarjetas de boda. Aqui esta mi tarjeta.

The color combination immediately made me think about a wedding card. Since I am also submitting cards for the challenge at Caardvarks blog, I decided I was going to double play with this inspiration. Here is my card.

Para esta tarjeta comencé estampando unos Damascos con tinta blanca sobre el papel azul. Luego estampe en los cuadros verdes los bordes. La flor la corte utilizando SCAL, mi Cricut y un file de svguts.com. Una vez cortada la flor use PearlEx en tono perlado para cubrir darle el brillo a la flor. Para hacerlo hice una mezcla de agua, PearlEx y gum arabic que es un tipo de fijador o pegamento. Luego pegué la flor sobre un circulo de scallops que corté utilizando un Nestability y le puse glitter azul en el borde.

I started stamping a damask over the whole front of the card with White ink. Then I stamped in green a damask border on each of the little squares. I cut the flower using my Cricut, SCAL and a file from svgcuts.com. After the flower was cut, I painted it with PearlEx using a solution of water, gum Arabic and PearlEx. This gave a wonderful shine to the flower. I adhere the flower to a scalloped circle that I cut using a Nestability and used blue glitter for the border.

En el interior imprimí el mensaje y estampé los bordes para darle continuidad a la tarjeta. Encontré este site donde puedes encontrar mensajes para el interior de tus tarjetas. Me parece súper práctico ya que hay muchas veces en las que necesitas algo que colocar en una postal y la inspiración no llega.

I found a nice quote at this site and printed it out and stamped the same corner as in the front squares to give a nice finishing touch to the inside of the card.

MI ULTIMA TARJETA DE VALENTINES

Mi ultima tarjeta es la de mi esposo. Pinté el gatito inspirada en mi nena Merengue. Le va a encantar pues el es locura con esta nena, así que por lo menos se que me voy a la segura.
