YOU'RE A PINKY STAR

Hi,

Just a quick post to share a card I made during this weekend.  I just wanted to create something easy with my cutting machine and decided to make a card with stars.  I love stars but for some reason don't use them frequently on my cards.

For this one I only used a stamped sentiment from the Lawns Fawn set Say Cheese Too.  I cut the stars and the craft paper mat with my cutting machine and the DP paper with my decorative scissors.  Yes!!  I still use them, they are great to make quick mats ;)

I colored the pearls with my Copics since I buy them on E-bay in bulk.  This is a great money saver, I buy bulks of different size and just color them with my Copics or alcohol inks ;)

I want to make this same card in a masculine version so this will be one of my projects for this week.

For now, this is the complete card:

I hope you have a great Monday and that you'll be the star of someone's life today!!

Hugs,

DYSU #77 INSPIRED BY A MOVIE

Hey everyone!
Welcome to a new challenge at Do You Stack Up?!

How many of you love to create while watching TV?  Sometimes I turn it on just to make me company while I make my cards and projects.  This week we want you to create something based on one of your favorite movies.  I know most of us have at least one favorite movie in each gender.  So whether it is a drama, a romantic comedy… even a thriller!!  We want you to set free the drama queen in you and create something inspired by a movie.

For this week we have two great sponsors:

* $12 Gift Certificate

* $20 Gift Certificate

I made my card using the set Tie One On from TAWS.  I made an unusual use of the big tie in the set.  Instead of using it for a masculine card, I went for a very girly look... with a tie!!!  Anyway, I was inspired with the movie 27 Dresses.  This is a still image of one of my favorites scenes of the movie and the one I used for y source of inspiration:

To make the dress, I stamped the tie and then added some ruffles to the dress, an accent at the waist and a string of buttons.

I think the quote I used is perfect for the card.

Here is a full look at my card:

I hope you get inspired and play with us this week at DYSU!!  Have a great day!!

Recipe:
Silk flowers
Ribbon
Gypsy DP paper from Basic Grey (A very old collection!!) - But any delicate DP will do ;)

JUNE TAWS BE INSPIRED CHALLENGE

Hi!!

I just finished a shaped card for the Be Inspired challenge at TAWS blog.  I made a beach ball, at least I tried to make on LOL!!  I guess I am going to try it again but for now I am rather happy with how this one turned out.

Here is a pic of my card:

And here is the interior:

Have you check the new issue of Paper Crafts Magazine??  It has a complete section of summer shaped cards.  Super fun!!  I decided I am going to make a serie on shaped cards, hence my practice today.  If I have to endure the heat that comes with summer, then I am going to enjoy making beach and pool related projects.  My next card?? hmmm, How about a sand castle ;)

Thanks for the visit and your sweet comments ;)

FRIENDS WALKING - OWH #124

Hi!!

I am sharing today with you a card I made using a Broken Box Stock digital image named Walking Buddies.    I worked this time with the black & white version because I wanted to create a sponged scene.

I am submitting this card to the sketch #124 challenge at Operation Write Home and to the Crafty Month celebration Challenge day #16 of Kim Kesti.  For my card I am using a new digital stamp image and some old cardstock, ribbon and button.

One of the thinks I like about digital stamps is how easily you can manipulate the image to obtain a desire result.  For example, in the case of this image, I deleted the girls in order to have a background image to work with.  Then, I printed the image in both cardstock and paper copy.  I used the paper copy version to create a mask for my sponging.  Here are a few pics of my creating process:

Here are the image ready to have the green applied:

Here I am ready to apply the brown ink to make the walking path:

Here I already applied all the colors, you can see the completed background
ready to add a  few details to add some texture and dimension.

Here is a view of the used mask:

Finally I colored the girls, paper pieced the images and glued them to my background.

Here are a few pics of my finished card:

I hope you have a great day tomorrow.  Now I am off to watch some TV and have dinner with my hubby.  Hope you like my card and that my creative process has some value to yours.

Hugs!!

DYSU #76 BOYS / MEN

Hey everyone!
Welcome to a new challenge at Do You Stack Up?!

This week is all about the man and boys in our lives.
We want you to create anything masculine.  Whether is to celebrate Father’s Day or for a birthday as long as it is masculine…. Bring it on!!

For this week we have three great sponsors:

$15 Gift Certificate

Winner’s Choice of 7 Images

Winner's Choice of 5 Digital Stamps (not Sets)

For my project this week I made two cute mini tool boxes to celebrate Father's Day .  One for my brother and one for my DH.  I used the SVG set My Day With Dad from SVG Cuts.   This file is so stinkin cuteeeee!!  And you will think it's difficult to assemble but in fact it was really simple.

I created the names with the MTC program.  I love how easy it is to create a word art using that program.

For the :stainless steel" parts, I used a grey cardstock and added some pearl ex in silver. This added a lot of shine, too bad that in the photo you cannot appreciate it very well.

Here is a full view of the boxes:

I am including a list of the materials you will need to create this project.  They maybe not the ones I used since I had al the materials in my stash, but I found some great substitutes.

Besides the materials linked in this post, I used the following from my stash:

some misc charms I purchased on E-bay
A little black button
Stamp set from Technique Tuesdays - Tool Time
Memento ink in Silver

I hope you have a great day and that you take the time
to play this week with us ;)

INTRODUCING BROKEN BOX STOCK & I SPY CHALLENGE #19

Hi!!
I want to introduce you today to  Broken Box Stock  a new digital stamp store.  Wendy, the owner is a great artist and I love her whimsical images.  You should check her store >>HERE<<   She has a lot of great freebies >>IN HERE<< so go ahead and try her wonderful images today ;)

I have been working a few card samples for her store and today I want to share three of them with you.

I am submitting  the first one to the I Spy Sketches Challenge#19.  For this card  I used the colored version of the Picnic Toodle.  I did some paper piecing and shading with my color pencils.  The sentiment was printed from the computer and I made the polymer flower she's wearing on her hair.  See how easy it is to use a colored version and then just adding your own touches? **HINT** I have even changed the colors on some images using Photoshop ;)

Here is a close look at the girl

The Second card is featuring the Tree of Life image.  I used one of her colored versions.  I love to use colored images because they really cut a lot of prep time.  You can add your touches and do some shading with your markers or color pencil and in no time you’ll have a great card.

The third card I am going to share today was made with the Bride Toodle.  I love the delicate feeling of this image.  Again, I used the colored version.  I added a few touches to the image and paper pieced it.

Hope you pay a visit to Wendy at Broken Box Stock and use some of her images.

Have a great day!!!!

For this week we have three great sponsors:
