Rejection Blog Hop

Hola!

Ayer luego de NO recibir un e-mail de Paper Crafts aceptando alguna de las tarjetas que sometí para una de sus ediciones especiales pasé por el blog de Amber y me encantó su idea. Ella es una chica súper alegre y talentosa que acabo de encontrar en el mudo de los blogs y quien decidió hacer un blog roll de rechazos. Me encanto la idea!! Después de todo de eso se trata, de crear, inspirar, y disfrutar de las cosas lindas de la vida.

Asi que les muestro mi primer rechazo. Preparé esta tarjeta inspirándome en el sketch #7. Pueden ver los 81 sketches >>aquí<<. Para la gente de Paper Crafts No debe ser nada fácil ese proceso de selección. Les llegaron sobre 2,700 tarjetas que tenían que verificar en menos de una semana. Aunque no escogieron ninguna de mis tarjetas, la experiencia me gusto mucho pues me motivó a ser más atrevida en el uso de mis materiales. Poco a poco les iré mostrando las 7 tarjetas que sometí. Pero por el momento este es el rechazo #1 que fue inspirado en el sketch #7.

Yesterday after NOT finding any e-mail from Paper Crafts related to my cards submissions and pondering what to do next with my rejected cards, I went to Amber’s blog and found the greatest post of all. She started a rejection blog roll; I found the idea so great that I will start showing my rejections too. I feel proud to be able to participate in this blog roll, I learned during this process and challenged myself to work more organized and get out of my comfort zone. I am proud to show you my rejections since I made them to create, inspire, have fun and share life’s wonderful things.

So this is my first rejection. It’s based on the sketch # 7. You can see all 81 sketches in >>here<<.

1-I made the small flower with Polymer Clay. / Yo misma hice la florecita del medio con Polymer Clay.

2- I love this colors. / Me encantan esos colores!!

3- I almost never use a single layer in a card. / Casi nunca trabajo tarjetas sencillas de un solo layer.

4- I colored the rhinestones with my Copics. / Pinté los rhinestones con mis Copics.

PAPER TREY FEBRUARY BLOG HOP CHALLENGE

This month challenge is all about scallops. I love them!!

It's been a while since my last post so I decided to play along in the challenge. I loved this month release, I wanted everything!!... My package finally arrived yesterday with my new toys, this morning I opened all my stamp sets and used one of them in today's card.

Anyway, it's good to be back. Hopefully things at work will be reaching the normal levels again and I will have more time to play here.


OK, let's talk about today's card.

- I used little circle punches to make the top layer scallop.
- For the flower I used PT felt (I'm hooked with it) in Raspberry Fizz and cut it with the Beautiful Blooms II die collection. These flowers are little scallops circles so I guess they count too for the challenge. I cut the leave with PT felt too in Simply Chartreuse.
-I stitched the green panel with brown, yellow and pink floss. I'm not sure if I really like how it turns out but It looks interesting and adds a lot of texture to the card.
- For the sentiment I used a banner from the Banner Builder set and the sentiment is from Blooming Buttons Bit.
-The Buttons in the sentiment and flower where cut in chipboard and yellow cs using the Buttoned Up #2 die and stamped with the matching stamps from the Button Boutique set.
- The rhinestones are from my stash. They are clear rhinestones which I colored with a Copic in a matching color.
- Finally, I got the color combo from the Paper Crafts special edition Color Inspiration. This edition has become one of my favorite tools at my working table. I used SU cardstock and ink in matching colors. I don't have the exact name of the colors I used, but if you need them leave me a comment and I will let you know.

Tuesday Trigger: You've Been Pinked

Hola!

Ayer estuve trabajando con una tarjeta rosada…eso es inusual en mi. Pero en el blog Moxie Fab el reto de este martes es crear una tarjeta que tenga mucho rosa. Así que mirando la fotografía en la que te debes inspirar rápido recordé esta imagen digital ya que es un ratoncito goloso que disfruta de un divino bizcochito, un tipo suertudo de no tener diabetes.

Yesterday I worked with a lot of Pink. That is because this week’s Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab is a photo with lots of pink. I decided to go with a digital stamp and this one is great because the little mouse seems so happy eating his cake, lucky him he’s not diabetic.





Utilizando mis Nestabilities abrí una ventana a la base de la tarjeta pues pensé que era buena idea usar la imagen para decorar tanto el interior como el exterior de la tarjeta.

I used my Nesties to open a Windows on the card base. I thought it would be a nice idea to use the main image to decorate both the outside and interior of the card.



Para la capa de frosting utilice Sparkly Fluff, me encanta el look y la dimensión que le dio.

For the frosting, I used Sparkly Fluff; I love the dimension and the look it gave to the cake.



Me siento tan feliz que es viernes, este fin de semana me quiero poner al día en unos cuantos retos y quiero trabajar en tarjetas para cumpleaños.

I’m so happy today is Friday, this weekend I am planning on working in a few challenges and making lots of B-day cards.

A SASSY BIRTHDAY

Hoy trabaje esta tarjeta usando una imagen digital de la tienda Sassy Cheryl’s. Me encantan las imágenes de las muñequitas porque se ven súper tiernas y alegres. Para la tarjeta utilice el sketch 153 de Card Positioning System. La misma la dibuje usando mis nuevos Copics, que cada día me gustan más.

This morning I dedicated myself to make this card using a digital stamp from Sassy Cheryl’s. I love the images in this store since they are very cute and full of happiness and energy. For the card, I used the sketch 153 from card Positioning System. I painted it using my new Copics, I love them!!

Una tarjeta para mi Madre

Hola!

El día de ayer (28 de enero) mi bella madre cumplió anos. Así que le hice esta tarjetita y para ella utilicé por primera vez una imagen de Magnolias y los Copics. Me encanta como pintan pero Ufff!! Me falta un mundo por aprender. Pero pienso que para ser la primera vez pues por lo menos la muñeca no se ve tan mal. Lo importante…a mami le encanto así que con eso quede mas que complacida.

Para la tarjeta utilize el sketch# 87 de Friday Sketchers.

Yesterday (Jan 28) was my mother’s b-day. Si I made her this card using for the first time a Magnolia image and my new Copics. I love the feel of those makers but still need to learn a lot about them. I think that being my first time the ending result was nice. The important thing is that my mother loved it, she is a much unbiased judge…believe me!!

For the card I used the sketch #87 from Friday Sketchers.

BIRTHDAY FAIRY

Hola / Hi!

Aquí les muestro una tarjetita que le hice a una amiguita bien especial. La hice para completar el sketch de esta semana en SCS. Por primera vez usé los stamps digitales y en verdad tengo sentimientos cruzados con ellos, vamos a ver si a la larga les tomo cariño.
Para pintar la muñeca use los marcadores y lapices de color de SU, tiza y gel pens. Fue toda una odisea pues no dibujo mucho, pero quede bastante complacida con los resultados.

Here is a card I made for a special friend. I use this week sketch at SCS. This is my first attempt using digital stamps and to be hones I have mixed feelings with them, I guess is a matter of time before I really start loving them. To paint the fairy I used SU markers and watercolor pencils, chalk and gel pens. It was a little hard for me since I don’t usually paint much, but in the overall I like the results.

2 SKETCHES 4 YOU CHALLENGE

Hola, ayer una amiga me pidió que le hiciera una tarjeta de cumpleaños y decidí utilizar el sketch 36 de Kazan's. Me encantan los sketches porque me economizan la parte de adivinar donde colocar las cosas y me economizan tiempo. Para la tarjeta utilice la colección Lemonade de BG y el gran Fluffles...¡ese gato me encanta! Para decorar la imagen use el mismo papel y el gato lo pinte con acuarela. Use los bolígrafos de Sakura para las costuritas.

Yesterday a friend asked me to make her a birthday card. I decided this morning to go with Kazan's sketch #36 at 2 Sketches 4 You. I loved card sketches! The make my life so easy taking away the guessing part. For the card I used BG Lemonade Collection and the one an only Fluffles...I love that cat! For the most part I paper pierced the image and I painted the cat with watercolor pencils. I also used Sakura gel pens for the faux stitching.

Moxie Fab World ;) Gradient is Radiant Challenge

Hace mucho tiempo no estaba por aquí. La vida ha estado un poco complicada y a la verdad es que se me ha hecho difícil sacar el tiempo para jugar con mis papeles. Les cuento que he estado teniendo mucho trabajo en la oficina lo cual sobre todo en estos días es una verdadera bendición y le doy gracias a Dios por eso. En mi apartamento estamos arreglando par de cositas, pintando, reorganizando...en fin haciendo mil cosas para que cuando lleguen las siempre esperadas navidades todo este bello y bien festivo como me gusta.

hoy es el cumpleaños número 40 de mi esposo Miguel. Como el es fanático de los carritos de control remoto, pues le preparé esta tarjeta la cual le encantó cuando la vio esta mañana. Para hacer la montaña de tierra utilicé el producto Petal Soft. Tengo varios colores y para ser honesta hasta el momento no los había usado. Me encantó el efecto y la dimensión que le da a los proyectos. Así que me parece que por ahí vendrán más colores. El stamp que utilicé es de Little Paper Shop. En esa tiendita he conseguido unos cuantos stamps masculinos que van de acuerdo a los gustos de mi esposo.

La semana pasada descubrí el blog de Moxie Fab World blog. WOW!! Esta súper nítido. En el mismo se postean varios retos y decidí tratarlo con la tarjeta de Miguel. Cuando comencé a pintar la imagen me di cuenta de que el usa mucho este estilo en varios tonos para pintar sus carritos, lo que hizo mas especial pues se parece a uno de los carritos que el ha pintado.

Como estamos calentando motores para la celebración del día mundial de la tarjetearía, esta semana estaré posteando varios proyectos. ¡Así que prepárense para una semana súper divertida!! Y éste próximo miércoles, Puerto Rico va a estar siendo presentado en este blog, así que no dejen de pasar por el para que apoyen a las chicas puertorriqueñas.

it’s been a while since my last post. Life has been a little complicated. I've been having a lot of work at the office which especially in these days is a blessing and I thank God for that. In addition we have been painting and remodeling a few things at home in order to be ready for the holidays. I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!

Today is my DH 40th birthday. Since he is a fan of remote control cars, I made him this card which he loved ;) To make the road I used Petal Soft. I have several colors of this product and to be honest had never used them until now. I loved the effect and the dimension that it gave to the card, so I think there will be more colors in the way. The stamp is from Little Paper Shop.

Last week I discovered the Moxie Fab World blog. I love it! And love the fact that she always have great challenges that gets us out of our comfort zone. Since my husband almost always uses gradient colors to paint his RC cars bodies, I decided that the image on this card was perfect for this challenge. I loved the results an so did he ;)

Well, now I will continue my work. Remember to stop by during the week because there are going to be a few surprises and blog candy next Saturday to celebrate the World Card Making Day.

Hoy quiero compartir una tarjetita sencilla que le hice a una amiga para su cumpleaños.

Para cortar la tarjeta y sobre utilizé el cartridge Wild Card, el cupcake lo corté utilizando el programa SCAL.

Me encanta el wild cart, tienen unas tarjetas super chulas. Las más que me gustan son las formas básicas ya que se pueden adaptar a cualquier tema y los sobres están bellos. Yo no sé a cuantas de ustedes le ha pasado, pero cuando comenzé yo no le prestaba mucho caso a los sobres. Ahora, pienso que el sobre es una parte fundamental de la tarjeta y me gusta decorarlo. A veces, uso también sobres transparentes ya que la tarjeta se ve y luego que la persona la recibe la puede dejar dentro del sobre y lucirla sin temor a que se le dañe.

Today I'm sharing a card made for a friend's birthday. I used the Cricut Wild Card cart to cut the card and envelope, for the cupcake I used SCAL. I love the Wild Card cart since it has a lot of great card shapes; I specially love the basic ones since they can be adapted to any theme.

When I started in this hobby I never paid attention to the envelope. Now, I think that it is a fundamental part of the card and I love to decorate them as well. Sometimes I use transparent envelopes because after reading the card you can display it without running the chance of ruining it.

GROOVY BIRTHDAY

Hacían días no escribía. He estado bien ocupada entre el trabajo y haciendo varios proyectos que iré compartiendo con ustedes. En el grupo de las SBS10 ahora mismo tenemos un reto de hacer una tarjetita o pagina con materiales que hayamos comprado y nunca hemos usado. Pues yo decidí que era hora de estrenar este stamp de TAC de las Groovy Girls que le compré a mi amiguita Marirose. Esos stamps me encantan!!! Esas muñequitas son adorables.

It's been a while since my last post. I have been busy at work and creating a few projects I will be sharing with you soon. Sarah from my SBS10 group sends us the challenge to make a card with a stamp set and embellishments that we have never used. Well, I use Groovy Girls from TAC. I bought this set last June and I had never inked it. So, I knew it was perfect for this challenge. As for the embellishment part, I forgot that part and remembered it after I finished the card. I guess I'm going to repeat the challenge, this time following all the instructions...what a punishment!!!!

Happy Birthday Alexia!!!

Estas cajitas las preparé para el cumpleaños de Alexia. Ella es una niña hermosa hija de una querida amiga de esas que uno conoce desde siempre. Alexia quiso celebrar su cumpleaños en Memory Box. Como el tema era de scrapbook no faltaba menos que sus "party favors" fueran hechos en papel. La pasamos super bien y las niñas gozaron en cantidad, salieron con un mini album y todo.

I made this boxes for the birthday party of Alexia. She is the daughter of a lifetime dear friend. She wanted her party to be held at Memory Box, a local SB shop. Since the theme was Scrap Booking, I couldn't resist to make the party favors in paper craft. We had a great time and the girls finished a mini album with pictures taken during the party.

Celebrando con retazos....Celebrating with scraps

Sigo con mis tarjetas utilizando solo retazos de papel. Esta tarjetita la hice esta mañana al levantarme, hoy fue uno de esos días en los que me levanté bien tempranito con muchos ánimos de embelequear. Ya la pila de scraps que saqué para obligarme a trabajar con ellos ha bajado alguito, aun así me queda bastante camino para recorrer...y cuando termine de seguro voy a tener que volver a empezar . Para mi este ha sido un verdadero reto pues me canso de trabajar con papeles que ya he utilizado, peeeero, hay que disciplinarse.

I keep working with cards made with scraps of paper. This morning was one of those in which I wake up very early full of energy and motivated to do what I like most, hang out in my SB room. My scrap pile has diminished a little, although I still have a lot to work before depleting it completely...and then I will have to start all over again . For me this has been a REAL CHALLENGE, I tend to get bore easily and using the same papers is not an exception. But, I have to discipline myself.....
