PAPER TREY OCTOBER BLOG HOP

Blog-hop-logo

Hello!!

This is my take on today's blog hop at Paper Trey's.  This month they challenged us to use non-traditional colors for our Christmas cards.  I kind of picked the color combo in the image below adding some yellow and coral.  They have some great color combos in Today's post.  Go check the out, really outside the box.

I cut the ornament using my digital cutter and Make the cut.  It is stamped with the background Twinkle Stamp set and one of the images from the Vintage Ornaments collection.  The sentiment is from Latina Crafter.  I decided to make my card is Spanish since I am preparing cards for the holiday season and I need some of them to be in Spanish.  The rhinestone was clear and I painted it with a Copic.

Finally here is my card:

Thanks for the visit.  Hope you have a great day!!

DYSU # EMBOSSING

Good morning all, it's time for another fresh challenge here at DYSU! We had some fabulous Vintage themed creations last week, making it so hard for us to choose the Top Three! Thank you all for continuing to inspire and create with us here at DYSU.

This week we have the theme of using Embossing in your creation, either dry or wet! So, dust off  those dusty embossing folders, and jars of embossing powder and get embossing this week!

We have some wonderful sponsors this week:

* Winner's Choice of 5 Digital Stamps

      Birdie Brown
*Winner's Choice of 3 Digital Stamps

* Winner's Choice of 6 Digital Images

For this week I have a very quick and easy mini card.  It's a 3X3 card emsossed with a Satmpin Uo Poinsettia folder.  It's perfect for mass producing it for Christmas.  I wanted to use a small poinsettia but didn't have any at hand so instead I used a polymer flower I made.

Here is my card

Hope you have a great day!!!

UNA GARITA PECULIAR

Hi! / Hola!

During these past two weeks I have been enjoying my vacations.  During this time I have been working on some card sets and invites and getting ready for the holiday season.

Here are the photos of the invites I finished yesterday.  I tried to replicate a typical Puerto Rican scene where you can see our famous Spanish Shelter, the sea, a sail boat, some clouds, birds and our great sun.  Those are very typical icons of my beloved island.

Aquí les presento la invitación terminada / Here are the pictures of the finished invite:

A la misma le añadí textura repujando la ola y la base de la tarjeta.  El estampado en la garita y la pared tambien añaden dimensión a la invitación.

I added texture and dimension by stamping and embossing different elements of the main image.

The base of the card was embossed with a linen plate adding some texture without interfering with the other elements.

Here are the invites ready to be packed and delivered:

Aún tengo muchas cosas que ir compartiendo con ustedes, asi que pendientes porque mañana vengo con otros proyectos y una buena noticia.

I still have more projects to share.  I'll be back tomorrow with other project and a very good news.

Que descansen!!  /  Have a great night!!

JUKEBOX / VELLONERA

Hi friends!!

Happy Saturday!  I am so glad the weekend is here.  It means I will have a lot of time to do the things I love to do.
I am sharing today a shaped card from the set Rocking and Rolling from SVG Cuts.

It's funny that I was chatting with some friends telling them I was making a jukebox.  And one of them told me it was a "vellonera" which is the name we use for these machines in Puerto Rico.  She was teasing me that I didn't knew the correct term for the machine LOL!!!  Well, the thing is that no matter how we call it, the file is cute without a doubt.  I do missed using rhinestones and ribbon on this one.  Had to remind myself constantly that this was a masculine card so I needed to keep embellishments to a minimum.  Hmm, maybe I'll make a girly set with the box and the card decorated for Christmas....

For the card, I did some embossing.
The base was embossed with a polka dot stamp and clear embossing powder.
For the green and yellow panels I used embossing folders and the Big Shot.

To complement the card, I used the stamps set Perpetual Bliss from Paper Smooches.  I was lucky enough to have that set which has images that complemented this card perfectly.

The envelope was decorated using more images from the stamp set.

Today I plan to go out with a friend and have a nice time with her.  Then back here hopefully to clean this studio so I can start having some fun in it tomorrow.

Hope you have a great day!!!

Hugs,

FELIZ NAVIDAD SHADOW BOX

Hello!!

Welcome back to my cyber home ;)

Today I want to share a project inspired by one of the projects in >>this<< post from Moxie Fab World.  The shadow box is a file from A Little Hut named Swing and Trees.  I love the files from A Little Hut because of their graphic style.  I have this file from a time now and although I wanted to use it I really never found the right inspiration to do it.  Now that I finished it, I am having lots of ideas to use this great file.

The bird is a 2001 freebie from SVG Cuts.  You can grab it >>here<<.  Go ahead and explore all those freebies they have in there, you will love them!!

After I cut my main panels, I added some stickles to add bling...
This is a Christmas project, so we need glitter right?!!

This is my project:

And another look at that cute bird:

See that cute quote?  It says Happy Christmas and is from a Latina Crafter Set.  I was so lucky to win their WCMD kit!!  It has 8 different stamp sets including one with Christmas quotes... and they are in Spanish!!
I am so glad for that, we need more Spanish sentiments for our projects.

This is all for today, hope you have a great Wednesday.
Two more days and the weekend will be here ;)

Hugs,
