Stamp-a-faire Tie-Dye Techniques

Stamp-a-faire Tie-Dye Techniques

Rainbow-Badge

I was more than happy when I returned home this afternoon because I found that even though I had to get out to run some errands today I could play in the Papertrey Ink’s Stamp-a-faire 2012.  Since I still have a few things to do today I looked for the easiest challenge for me.  I was able to get out of the kitchen (I have guests tomorrow ) and kame this card using the Copics Tie Dye technique showcased in Nichole's video >>Here<<
The-Challenge
Create a tie-dye background using one of the techniques showcased.
So, I watched the video, grab five of my favorite colors and draw circles like a mad mad woman.  After that I used rubbing alcohol and a brush and applied alcohol again like a mad mad woman.  Since mad women don't like to wait I turned on my heat gun and dried the image.  And something crazy happened.... obvious, I was behaving like a mad woman!!!  I liked the reversed side better!!!  Here is the proof:

Front:

Reverse:

Since I couldn't trust my sanity I stamped both versions..
you know, just to be sure.

Front:

Reverse:

Still liked better the reversed side.  So I went to my art manager and resident shrink (my hubby) and asked for his opinion.  He confirmed I am sane!!!
He liked the reverse side better too!!

So here is my card
 Sorry the glue on the rhinestones shows, it will dry clear.
I couln't wait, I have to make a lasagna for my guests.

Tomorrow I will try some other techniques.  I am waiting for the home-made embellishments challenge.  Love them!!

Hugs!!

NEVER GIVE UP

Hello!!

This is my second post for today but being my last day of vacations I couldn't resist the urge to play in a few more challenges.

I am submitting this card to TAWS Be Inspired#7 and the
Simon Says no rules challenge.

Here is TAW's inspirational pic:

And also I am playing with the freshly made sketch #42.
Here is their sketch:

Searching for ideas I found this great photo:

And then I created my card ;)

I rotate the sketch so my main image fit in it.

Hope you like it as much as I do!!

Have a great afternoon!!!

LET'S CELEBRATE!!

Hello!!  Hope you are having a great friday ;)

I made this card for the Broken Box Stock Challenge Free For All and the CPS 274 challenges.   If you want to play with Broken Box Stock remember they have a huge selection of freebies >>here<<.

Here is a picture of the CPS sketch:

For my card, I used the image A Row of Shops which you can find >>here<<.  As you can see, I did a lot of paper piecing for this card.  I Love to cut paper and use my tweezers, the harder the better LOL!!

I rotate the sketch so my image will fit better but otherwise I stayed pretty close to the original sketch.

I hope you have a great day and be motivated to play!!!

Hugs

DYSU #81 FOOD

Hey everyone!
Welcome to a new challenge at Do You Stack Up?!

Usually summer is that time of the year we eat a lot because we are on vacation and the kids are at home.  There are lots of outdoor activities, picnics and fun things to do that involve the food that we love to eat.  That’s why we want to see cards or projects related to food.  Ujumm!!  FOOD!!  So grab your favorite snack and start creating something yummy for us ;)

For this week we have three great sponsors:

Meljen's Designs
* Winner's Choice of 4 Images

Wonderstrange Arts
* 5 Digital Stamps (not from sets)

Rhoda Design Studio
* $15 Gift Certificate

I don't have a card today.  For this challenge I decided to finally sit and make a project I was wanting to do for a while.  I bought this file from SVG Cuts a few months now and finally I decided it was time to use it.

I simply adore the teapot, it's so cute!!!

And then the teacup.....

And last the tea bag dispenser......

The set has a card too but I found myself out of time.. and energy LOL!  I used and old collection from Basic Grey that honestly it's not one of my favorites because of the colors.  I decided this was a cool project to use them because I will not be inspiring myself with the prints or colors but with the items shapes.  I was correct because I simply love the results and the print of the paper turned out perfect for the project.

I hope you liked my tea set.  It will go to a dear friend of mine who enjoy a nice cup of tea as much as I do.  Sorry for the poor pictures, I intended to take some outdoor photos but I didn't found the time to do that.

Hope you have a great day!!!

BE INSPIRED #6

Hello!!

I made this card to participate in TAWS Be Inspired challenge #6.
Here is the inspirational image she used for her challenge:

I used her trees to make a little scene which you may think it's a little odd because there is a bright sunshine.  The reason I place such a bright sun is that I live in Puerto Rico and instead of white Christmas we always have green ones with Sunshining days ;)
For the background strip I just repeated the sentiment using Photoshop
and printed it on white cardstock.

Here is my scene:

And here is the full card:

I stamped some peppermint candies that may look as snow which was not my intention but let's think it's foam snow for the Caribbean ... completely man made LOL!!
We do have pine trees, although they don't smell as good as the evergreens ;)

Hope you have a great day and go ahead and be inspired to play with TAWS!!  Remember you can use her freebies >>Here<<

Hugs!

DYSU # 79 RED

Hey everyone!
Welcome to a new challenge at Do You Stack Up?!
This week Red is king!!!  Have you noticed how red is always used to denote extreme expressions such as happiness or anger?  And it’s that it is such a powerful color.  Just a hint of it can change completely the color scheme of any piece of art.
This week we want to see your reddish expression.
You can use any other neutral color as long as Red is the dominant one.

For this week we have three great sponsors:

* £10 Gift Certificate

* Winner’s Choice of 6 Images

* $15 Store Credit

My card for this week was made using stamps from Inspired Stamps.   The verse is from the stamp 2 Cor. 9:15 and the flowers are from the set flower buds.
I paper pieced the flowers and cut the sentiment in sections so I could play with the words and it could fit into the circle.

Hope you have a great day and see you at the DYSU blog!!!
