LIFE...

Hi,

Today I finally found the other project I made using a Raindrop Echo Designs digital Stamp.  For this project I used one of the stamps in the Inspirational Sentiments set.  This is a hybrid project since the background is a digital paper that I printed with only a portion of the quote.  I also used the stamp to make a digital cut file.

For the background I stamped some doilies with a Maya Road stamp and use some home made glimmer mist to add shine.  On the parts I cut using my Cricut (the flower and two of the words) I used glossy accents to add more dimension.

I really love to find different uses for my digital stamps.  I think they are extremely versatile and with a little imagination you can create something really nice.  I still need to mat this quote and it will be placed on a frame.  Don't worry. I will take a pic of it and share it with you ;)

ESTAD QUIETOS / BE STILL...

Y reconoced que yo soy Dios. Ese es uno de los versos bíblicos favoritos de mi madre el cual he escuchado en el transcurso de mi vida. Cuando llega la adversidad siempre lo repito en mi mente y aunque no es fácil seguirlo le pido a Dios que me ayude a estar quieta y dejarlo obrar en cada una de mis situaciones.

Como practica para el curso de “Sponging” que estoy tomando con Kim Teasdale, había que hacer una escena anocheciendo. A mi me encantan los faros de luz pues se ven misteriosos, imponentes y tienen un propósito de guiar y dar luz. Así que tan pronto me pregunte que hacer con la asignación pensé en un faro y en ese versículo de la biblia y decidí hacerle un marquito a mami. Ya se lo entregue pues le estoy dando un detalle semanal hasta el día de navidad cuando le voy a entregar su regalo oficial de las navidades. El único cambio que le hice fue al mat del marco que este no me gusto como se vio y termine cambiándolo por uno azul claro con detalles azul marino que lo complemento mucho mejor. Pero no lo retrate así que les muestro este.

When adversity strikes, I always remember her words of wisdom and try to be still and let God guide my way thru it. It’s not easy, but I now He will act in our favor always.

As part of the course I am taking with Kim Teasdale, we had to make a breaking Dawn Scene. I have always love lighthouses; they give me a feeling of peace and at the same time find them mysterious. So as soon as I started my project I thought about this verse and a lighthouse and decided to make a frame for my mother. She loved it… Thanks God LOL! After I took this photo I changed the mat to a light blue with navy blue details but forgot to take a picture at the final result.

SEASON'S GREETING FRAME

En estos días he estado trabajando en este marquito que Miguel me pidió para adornar nuestra casa. Estoy bastante complacida con el resultado. Use el file de North Pole de My Scrapchick, tan pronto vi ese file me enamoré de el. Poco a poco estoy redactando un tutorial donde explico varios detalles de cómo fui montando las piezas y varios consejos de cositas que hago que por lo menos a mi me gusta hacer para que mis piezas se vean como yo quiero.

Over the last couple of days I have been working on this frame that my DH asked me to make to decorate our home. I am preparing a simple tutorial in which I will explain a few tricks and things I always do when mounting my images. I used the North Pole file from My Scrapchick. I fell in love with that file as soon as I saw it.

A COLORFUL TRIO

Aquí les muestro un set de Topiaris que había hecho desde hace ya par de meses. Solo me faltaba conseguir el tiestito donde ponerlos y finalmente lo conseguí hace par de semanas. Lo voy a colocar en la sala de mi casa también cerca del cuadrito que les mostré hace unos días. Las florecitas son hechas a mano (si, una a una). Las hice utilizando los stamps de Bloomers-Coronado Island. Aunque estas flores se pueden hacer sin los stamps, me gusta usarlos porque dejan una impresión sobre la flor lo que te permite que quede en dos tonos. De ahí que las florecitas blancas tienen un todo de rosa, azul o anaranjado. Y también todas quedan del mismo tamaño lo que hace que el trabajo se vea mas uniforme.

Por el momento no tengo más piezas de Home Decor para mostrarles. Las otras cosas que estoy haciendo están aun en proceso, pero en la medida en que las vaya terminando se las iré mostrando. Como verán mi casa esta decorada con muchos colores. Como diría mi amiga Tere…. Pa’ circo no tiene precio…. Pues entonces…. QUE SIGA LA FUNCION!!!

This is a set of trees I made a few months ago and finally I purchased the little tins to finish them. I used the Bloomers Stamps from Coronado Island to make the flowers. Although you can make these flowers without the stamps, I like to use them because not only I can make my flowers in two tones (like the white ones) but also because they have the same size making it easier to finish the Topiary.

I will be showing you more pieces of Home Décor as I finished them. As you can see I love colors and those extents to my decoration. Life is so grey sometimes that I need to have a cheerful place to come every day.

HOME SWEET HOME

¿Que mejor cosa que uno llegar a su casita todos los días a disfrutar del amor y del ambiente que nos hace sentir felices? Con eso en mente es que durante mis vacaciones me dediqué a preparar este cuadrito que hice para adornar mi casa y darme a mi misma la bienvenida todos los días. Hace tiempo estaba por hacerlo y resulto ser de las pocas veces que algo me queda tal y como lo visualicé.

Para hacer el cuadrito use un canvas 5 X 7 el cual pinte con pintura acrílica de Memory Makers en Sky y Celery y la calle la hice pintando una línea con tinta Craft negra de SU! Todas las demás imágenes fueron estampadas y recortadas en dos tonos para darle las tonalidades a las puertas y ventanas y recortadas para darles dimensión. El marco es uno de fotos que compre en Costco al cual le di una primera capa de Gesso y luego pinte de manera tal que le diera continuidad al canvas. Le añadí toques con pintura de color “Expresso” en los bordes y el interior del marco para que tuviera más profundidad. La cinta y el lazo se los pegue con mi pistola de calor. Las letras las corté con la Cricut y un font que ahora no recuerdo, pero cualquier letra ancha haría el mismo efecto. Luego de cortadas las decoré con lentejuelas, yute y rhinestones.

Is there a better feeling than arriving each evening at your home to be with your family and enjoy the things that really makes you happy? With that in mind is that I created this home decor during my vacations last month. I am very pleased with the results since this is one of those times where the final results are just as I imagined them.

For this project I used a 5 X 7 canvas and a picture frame I bought at Costco a while ago. I painted them with Memory Makers acrylic paint in sky, celery and espresso. I loved playing with gesso and acrylics paints and see a lot of projects using these materials in the near future. I stamped each house in two tones (brown for the windows and doors) and then paper pieced them and mounted in the canvas with mounting tape to give them more dimension. The letters where cut with my Cricut and SCAL and decorated with sequins, rhinestones and hemp.
