Hi!!
Yesterday was the day I decided to overcome my fear and finally use all the mixed media stuff I've been collecting for a while. I used as an inspiration >>this video from Vicky Papaioannou<< She is a great artist and her videos are great. I've been watching them for a while and she makes mixed media looks super easy and fun. Thanks Vicky for all the inspiration you share with us!!
Here are a few details:
The houses are from a Claudine Hellmuth set.
The letters were cut in foamy using a Paper Trey Ink die.
I made the cloud stencil with chipboard and a Paper Trey Ink die.
The heart was cut in foamy using a Spellbinder die. The foam was originally black and I altered it using gesso and Faber Castell Gelattos.
The sentiment is in Spanish and means "Home is where the heart is".
And here is the complete project:
For the canvas I used Gesso, Faber Castell Gelattos and Essential PITT Artist Pens, Liquitex Matte Gel and White modeling paste, Tim Holtz tissue paper with music sheet design, acrilic paint in sky blue, a white and a black gel pen and different background stamps I have in my stash.
I had so much fun making this project. And really loved the results. I have a few ideas in my head that I need to write down since I will not be able to play with mixed media for a while. I have a few projects I need to complete before I can play with paints and get all dirty again.
Hope you have a great afternoon and thanks for the visit!!!

I love your canvas, like you I have watched Vikkys and other artists videos over and over again and have been collecting all the "esentials", but as yet have not had the chance to start. However that is about to change this coming week I have set aside some time to get messy as you described it.
Excellent. Vicky P will be impressed. I haven't tried to art journal yet - so many supplies to get started and my craftroom is overflowing already. But it is tempting. . . .
Fantastic! Your journal page is amazing. It looks like you've been doing this for years. How fun!
Your project is amazing!!! I am so happy that I inspired you to start art journaling and create this beauty!!!
