Hello! Yesterday I was reading blogs and came across >>this post<< from Tammy Tutterow. I saved it thinking that is was something I wanted to try sometime. Later I saw a post in facebook with the quote "Life is too short to worry about stupid things. Have fun, fall in love. Regret nothing and don't let perople bring you down". I decided that someday was now and that I was going to use that quote for my project.
Since I don't have the dies she used in her project, I used my digital cutter and chipboard to cut all the layers. The frame is from one of the cards in the Santa's Village file from SVG Cuts.
I cut the following pieces:
Chipboard: 9 frames and 2 mats.
Transparency: 1 mat
White paper : 1 mat (I used Cryogen white paper for this project)
Design paper: 1 frame
Here I show all the different components. I ended with three sturdy frames (consisting of 3 chipboard frames glued together), One transparency stamped with stazon and one sponged mat. For the sponged mat I glued together one chipboard mat and the white paper mat. Then I sponged the background and added some water to get splashed effect. I added some Walnut stain color to all the edges. After that I stamped the quote and added some hand writing. Then I glued together one chipboard frame and the design paper piece and added some stitching to it, although in the photo you cannot see it.
A good tip is to press the edges with clothespins to make sure everything is well glued together.
I followed the order in Tammy's tutorial to glue all the pieces together. First the sponged background them the frame with the transparency. Place the dragonfly to one border and glue the third frame. I love that idea!! The dragonfly is suspended from the frame giving the illusion that is actually flying. Last I glued the piece of designed paper on top of the whole thing.
The flowers were made using vellum. I cut the flowers stamped the polka dots and embossed them in white and inked them with distress inks. I don't love my handwriting, still I used it to add a more personal touch and some interest to the quote.
Hope you like it!! It will have a special place at my desk.
Hugs!
